A Day Out For Two In The City of Wanneroo
Just 25 kilometres from Perth’s picturesque business district, the City of Wanneroo is the perfect place for a leisurely day out for two. With its wonderful array of heritage listed buildings, museums, art galleries, cafés, pubs, restaurants, and one of the best local farmers markets in the region, it’s a great place to explore in comfort and style, i.e. in a stretch limousine with a local chauffeur who knows the best places to visit.
Wanneroo Markets
Established in 1980, the Wanneroo Markets are one of the most popular attractions in the city and are open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 9am to 5pm. Whilst the markets aren’t open the rest of the week, there’s still a wonderful variety of food on offer at the cafés and restaurants here, and there’s also a popular pub, the Roo Bar & Grill, which is open Wednesday to Sunday from 11am until ‘late’.
Wanneroo’s Beaches
The beaches around the City of Wanneroo are excellent, plus you have quite a few to take your pick of – ask your driver for their recommendations – and if you’re looking for the perfect place to catch the sunset, you’ve definitely come to the right place, as it isn’t known as the ‘Sunset Coast’ without good reason!
Yanchep Lagoon Beach is a great choice, though it does tend to get crowded during the summer months, as is Wanneroo Beach which is also calm, and offers lovely turquoise waters that are nothing shy of heavenly. There are some great cafés and restaurants overlooking the Indian Ocean which are perfect for catching the sunset.
Wanneroo Botanic Gardens & Mini Golf
Some of the most beautiful gardens in the region, the Botanic Gardens at Wanneroo are a fantastic choice for a picnic lunch, and there’s also a highly rated restaurant here if you don’t fancy dining on the lawns, which really is something to consider.
The mini golf facilities have a reputation for being over-priced, but still, if your idea of a romantic day out involves thrashing your better half at putt-putt, it’s surely worth it!
Yanchep National Park
This beautiful national park lies about 40 kilometres north of Wanneroo, but if you have the time it’s certainly worth what little effort it takes to relax in the back of a limousine and take in the stunning scenery along the way, plus the beaches at Yanchep are fantastic and are widely considered to be among the best in the region.
With an abundance of kangaroos and koalas roaming free you’re presented with the opportunity to get up close and personal with some iconic Australian fauna, and the Crystal Cave at Yanchep is also deserving of a visit if you have time to spare.
Along with the attractions and places of interest discussed here, Wanneroo is also home to some notable museums, art galleries, and the Onyesha Spa which has proven very popular, plus there’s also the stunning scenery to take in along the way whilst reclining in the back of a stylish limousine.
